LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu Disc Golf Club will be swirling their sport into autumn with an upcoming championship. Created by local disc golf enthusiasts, the club is always hyped up to come together and participate in the club’s ongoing competitions.
The club welcomes the launch of the first ever Arizona Championships in Mohave County. The competition is expecting over two hundred players from all over the country hoping to take the win for the steadily increasing sport.
Nonprofessional participants wishing to enter the game will be required to pay a $50 membership fee from the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) in order to gain eligibility for the tournament. Which can be done by visiting Join & Renew | Professional Disc Golf Association (pdga.com).
The championship game will be free to spectators who are allowed to bring their own chairs and coolers. Viewers are not allowed to bring outside alcoholic beverages, and the club is warning watchers of the game to be mindful of the athletes and stay on the lookout for unexpected discs flying throughout the skies. The top three winners in both pro and amateur divisions will receive a trophy along with forty percent of the field and monetary payouts.
Anyone interested in volunteering can do so by visiting the club’s Lake Havasu City’s Disc Golf Club Facebook page. More information about the championship competition can be accessed by visiting 2024 Arizona State Championships Presented by MVP Disc Sports – Lake Havasu City (2024, LHC Disc Golf Club) · Disc Golf Scene.
The Arizona State Championship for Disc Golf will be on Saturday, September 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sara Park Disc Golf Course and the Bridgewater Links. Make an appearance and witness the team’s disc golf journey history in the making.
Proceeds will all go to the club’s ongoing mission to put the disc golf sport into Havasu’s athletic departments for our grade schools.
