The Standard began its journey in November of 1990, founded by Don and Matthew Wanner as a black-and-white newspaper with a circulation of 2,000 copies. Over the years, it evolved into a vibrant four-color, multi-section newspaper with a countywide circulation of 8,200 copies. In 1998, The Standard incorporated as Mohave County Newspapers, Inc., and became the official newspaper of Mohave County in July of the same year. It takes pride in investing in the future of Mohave County and has grown to be the largest weekly newspaper in the area.

The Standard is published in print every Wednesday, providing an entire week of shelf life for both readers and advertisers. In addition to the print edition, it is also available digitally on a daily basis, ensuring readers stay updated with the latest Mohave County news whenever and wherever they want.

The Standard holds the distinction of being Mohave County’s largest and only countywide newspaper. Covering the entire county, it reaches readers from the center of one of the largest counties in Arizona, including major cities like Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, and Kingman.
