College with zero debt? Get answers at the Parent College Prep Boot Camp

Parents and those seeking information about affordable higher education are encouraged to attend the Parent College Prep Boot Camp on Tuesday, October 8.

“If you attend this free community event you’ll get valuable information that could save you tens of thousands of dollars in university tuition,” said Colorado River Schools CTE & Counseling Director Gina Covert, who is organizing the event.

Attendees will receive assistance filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), as well as college applications from Mohave Community College, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, Grand Canyon University and many more.

The FAFSA is required to help determine whether a college student and/or their family qualify to receive financial aid that may cover all or part of their tuition, room and board.

“People have a lot questions about financial aid, specifically how and why they should fill out the FAFSA,” said MCC President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein.  “I can tell you it is extremely important to complete a FAFSA, and those who do may find that college is financially within their reach.  Some may find they qualify to have all of their college paid for, which means no loans and no college debt.  Others may receive scholarships based on the information provided.”

The Parent College Prep Boot Camp will be held at the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse in Bullhead City on Tuesday, Oct 8.  Doors open at 5:00 p.m.

This important community event is brought to you as a public service by Colorado River Schools & Mohave Community College.  Contact Gina Covert at GCovert@CRSK12.org for more info.
