KINGMAN – In following Governor Ducey’s Executive Order (2020-33) the amended “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected,” the City of Kingman is continuing the current closures of all city buildings (except the Municipal Courthouse and Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course) to all public access until May 11, however we are still conducting business remotely, through mail, email, online platforms, and telephone. No special event permits will be issued for the month of May. This does not implement a curfew in the City of Kingman. This does, however, continue to enforce the closures of dine-in restaurants, salons, barber shops, spas, etc. Some retail establishments may begin opening May 4 and May 8, under this executive order. This Executive Order expires May 15, unless extended by the Governor. Furthermore, Governor Ducey’s Executive Order (2020-12) “Prohibiting the Closure of Essential Services,” is still to be followed; list of “essential services,” can be found here: https://azgovernor.gov/governor/news/2020/03/list-essential-services
Meanwhile, the city is currently installing temporary safety measures, such as Plexiglas guards for departments who serve our community face-to-face. As soon as those safety measures and precautions are in place, the city will re-open to the public. As the Governor’s order stands, Kingman City Parks will re-open Saturday, May 16, 2020.
“The City of Kingman is reopening gradually and safely, together, for the good of all,” said Kingman Mayor Jen Miles.
Mohave County currently has over 100 positive cases, with more than 70 of those cases being located in the City of Kingman; there are currently eight COVID-19-related deaths in Mohave County. To continue to protect the health of our City team members and the public, all residents will be required to make requests for services remotely, through mail, email, online platforms, and telephone. City team members will be allowed into the buildings and are expected to work on-site to keep the City of Kingman operating to serve our residents. Dispatch, Fire, Police and Sanitation Services will operate at normal levels.
The city sincerely appreciates those in our community who have already taken precautionary measures to keep everyone safe. For more information, visit: https://www.cityofkingman.gov/government/advanced-components/covid-19-microsite
