City of Kingman seeks resident feedback on trash collection program

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is currently evaluating its trash collection program in response to rising operational costs. To ensure community needs are prioritized, the City is seeking valuable input from solid waste customers who live within the city limits.

As part of the evaluation process, the City is considering several potential options:

1. Service Fee Adjustment: Maintain the current twice-a-week trash collection service with a corresponding rate adjustment to cover the costs of providing the service.

2. Service Adjustment: Reduce trash collection frequency from twice a week to once a week at a reduced rate.

The City is also seeking feedback through the survey on the potential implementation of a drop-off recycling program, with the following options under consideration:

1. Reopening the drop-site recycling program at Kingman’s Public Works facility, funded by a per-visit fee without increasing the overall trash service rate.

2. Reopening the drop-site recycling program with the costs covered by an increased monthly trash service rate.

A survey will be distributed to residents through utility bill inserts to gather feedback on these options. For those receiving e-bills or who may miss the paper insert, the survey is also accessible online and in person.  The deadline to complete this survey is February 27th

There are multiple ways to participate:

* Mail: Complete the paper survey included in your utility bill insert and return it using the envelope provided or in person.

* In-Person: Pick up and drop off surveys at the City Complex, located at 310 N. 4th Street, Kingman, AZ.

* Online: Fill out the survey digitally by visiting https://polco.us/s93zds.

To ensure survey integrity, residents completing the online survey will be asked to provide their home address as the first question. The survey is only open to those located within the city limits who utilize the City’s solid waste services.

Your input is crucial to shaping the future of Kingman’s trash collection program. Whether you prefer twice-weekly trash pickups or support alternative changes, the City values your perspective.

For questions or additional information, please contact the City’s Utility and Billing Department at (928) 753-5561.
