KINGMAN – In honor of National Dog Day, the City of Kingman is excited to announce the grand opening of the new Route 66 Dog Park with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, September 5, at 10:00 a.m. The celebration will take place at the newly constructed park, located next to the Powerhouse Visitor Center in Downtown Kingman.
The Route 66 Dog Park is the first of its kind on this side of town and will provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging space for dogs and their owners. At opening, the park will feature a Route 66 shield photo opportunity, a play tire for pups, and more amenities coming soon.

The ribbon cutting is more than just an opening. It’s a celebration of pets and the community. Attendees can enjoy fun giveaways, explore vendor booths, and connect with local pet-friendly businesses. In addition, the City has partnered with the Mohave County Animal Shelter to host a pet adoption, offering residents the chance to meet adoptable pets and give them a forever home.

“The Route 66 Dog Park is more than just a dog park. It’s a gathering place that reflects our city’s pride in Route 66 and our love for pets,” said Josh Noble, Tourism Services Manager. “We’re proud to add this unique space to our historic downtown and invite the community to join us in celebrating its opening.”
The public is encouraged to attend this free event and take part in the festivities.
