KINGMAN – Changes to the City of Kingman’s ordinance regarding the parking of recreational vehicles (RVs) and trailers on public streets will go into effect this Thursday, following approval by the Kingman City Council last month. Under the new rules, RVs and trailers are no longer permitted to park on public streets unless they are actively being loaded or unloaded. The previous ordinance allowed for up to 72 hours of parking, which frequently led to enforcement difficulties.
These changes aim to address long-standing enforcement challenges while maintaining the safety and accessibility of public streets. “These updates provide a much-needed clarification to the ordinance and allow law enforcement to address parking violations more effectively,” said City Attorney, Carl Cooper. “The changes will help ensure public streets are not used for long-term vehicle storage while still accommodating residents who need temporary access for loading or unloading.” The changes to this ordinance are including but not limited to boats, truck campers, camping trailers, utility trailers and travel trailers.
Violations of the ordinance can result in fines, which will be imposed at the discretion of the Kingman Municipal Court. Residents are encouraged to review the updated regulations and make any necessary arrangements to comply with the new rules.
