Some 52 acres set for development along Colorado River

Don Laughlin plans a mix of development on a 52-acre parcel south of the Colorado River bridge that bears his name. Blaze near Lake Havasu closes highway

Highway 95 near Lake Havasu City was closed in both directions Sunday, March 31, when a brush fire roared along the edge  of Lake Havasu at Body Beach. The Lake Havasu Fire Department said personnel from multiple agencies assisted in the effort to contain the fire that was reported at 10:18 a.m. The blaze chewed through 80 acres of dense salt cedar brush and other vegetation, fanned by blustery conditions. “The winds caused the fire to move rapidly along the shoreline to the area just north of the Havasu Riviera Project,” a news release stated.
