The former Smoke Shop that was shut down by federal authorities in a law enforcement operation will get a makeover in downtown Kingman Thursday. Deputy Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said some city staff members and local merchants will repaint the building a sandstone color. Cooper said some feel that the green and orange color scheme rendered the building at 417 Beale Street an eyesore. KINGMAN – Venture Club of Kingman will be hosting their Second Annual Charity Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, October 12. The event will begin at noon at Metcalfe Park, 315 W. Beale St. There will be food, drinks, raffles and much more! It will be a double-elimination tournament with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Teams of two and individuals are welcome. Team registration is $30 and individual registration is $20. KINGMAN – The Kingman Farmers Market will celebrate the end of “The Dog Days of Summer” Saturday, August 31 by collecting pet food for the Mohave County Animal Shelter and Golden Valley Pet Recovery.
