Timeless Cruisers Car Show slated for June 1

Timeless Cruisers Car Club will host their annual Car Show on Saturday, June 1 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at the Kingman Powerhouse. Unfinished, primered, rusted, and dented classic vehicles are invited to participate (painted cars are also invited). There will be unique awards in unusual categories! Safety concerns addressed at workshop Mohave County Sheriff’s office operations were a major focus of the budget workshop the Board of Supervisors conducted on Friday, April 17. Sheriff Doug Schuster repeated many points previously made to demonstrate need of additional funding. “We are seriously understaffed. We are under-compensated and our ability to serve the citizens of Mohave County is strained to say the least,” Schuster said. “We’re not as effective as we should be. First of four sentenced in LHC drug bust

A three-week Mohave County jail term was ordered Thursday, May 16, for a Lake Havasu City woman who was arrested on drug charges early this year. Adreanna Gaston, 22, is one of four people taken into custody following a January 26 search of a residence at 2785 Barbara Drive in Lake Havasu.  Prosecutor Amanda Claerhout said officers first responded to a domestic dispute at the home. Finding of No Significant Impact signed for the Transcanyon Water Distribution Pipeline project in Grand Canyon National Park

May 8, the National Park Service finalized a plan to provide a reliable water delivery system, improve water quality, and meet water supply needs at the South Rim and in the Cross Canyon Corridor in Grand Canyon National Park.  “The pipeline plays a critical role in supporting park operations and supplies all potable water to the park’s South Rim and Cross Canyon Corridor,” said Kristine Provenzano, National Park Service manager for the project. Former firefighter charged with embezzlement

Criminal charges have been filed against a firefighter accused of embezzling funds from a rural fire district headquartered in Dolan Springs. Phillip Picard, 31, is initially charged with ten counts of forgery and single counts of fraud and theft in an April 8 complaint filed in Kingman Justice Court. A Mohave County Sheriff’s office investigation was initiated late last June after Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire District (LMRFD) governing board and staff members conducted their own probe.
