Two arrested in murder case

The body of a murder victim has been recovered following a Friday tip that an unreported homicide occurred in April at a home in the 4500 block of Glen Road in north Kingman.  Mohave County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said a search located a 55-gallon drum that concealed the body and was buried in a shallow grave on the backyard of the property. The suspected victim’s daughter Carrie Vanover, 23, and Mark Baldonado, 31, both of Kingman, admitted their involvement in the murder, according to Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. City upgrades Acoma Boulevard and Saratoga Avenue intersection

To enhance traffic safety and flow at the intersection of Acoma Boulevard and Saratoga Avenue, Lake Havasu City is installing new stop signs on July 24, making the intersection into a 3-Way (Multi-Way) Stop Controlled Intersection. Temporary warning signs will also be in place to allow motorists to acquaint themselves with the change in this area on the first day that the signs are fully operational. Fatality on Highway 68

The Arizona Department of Public Safety has released the name of the pedestrian who was fatally injured when struck by a vehicle in Golden Valley. Officers responded at 9:33 p.m. Monday to the highway 68 incident at mile marker 25.7 DPS Trooper Jonathan Montes said George Carson, 34, Golden Valley was dead at the scene of the accident. He said Carson was struck by a 2015 silver Honda hatchback whose driver was not injured. Montes said DPS is investigating how it is that Carson came to be in the roadway when struck.

Bullhead City Council asks voters to approve funding for EPCOR water system

Bullhead City – The Bullhead City Council voted unanimously July 16, to ask voters to decide whether the city should issue debt to acquire EPCOR’s water system. The move follows many months of complaints from Bullhead City residents about EPCOR’s rate increases and which resulted in the city’s intervention into EPCOR’s recent rate increase case before the Arizona Corporation Commission.
