Family reunited with dog after car theft

Heather Joy Ohlinger, 39, of Kingman was arrested by Mohave County Sheriff’s Deputies on I-40 near Blake Ranch Road, Friday May 3. Deputies were called to a business location in the 900 block of Blake Ranch Road to investigate a possible automobile theft. It was determined while the automobile owners were inside the business someone stole their vehicle. The car owners stated that their dog was inside the car. MCSO dispatch released the vehicle make and license number, and deputies soon located the vehicle traveling along the Interstate. The individual driving was identified as Ohlinger. NACFD may be overseen by Kingman Fire

Kingman Fire Chief Jake Rhoades and his leadership team may take on the responsibility of providing management oversight of the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District (NACFD). The Kingman City Council voted Tuesday to direct staff to negotiate with the fire district to develop a pilot program intergovernmental agreement to possibly bring NACFD under Rhoades’ administrative umbrella. “Basically what you’re doing is you’re almost outsourcing the Chief’s professional skill set to them. Project to expand the KRMC Emergency Department begins

Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) has announced that a 19-month project to expand its Emergency Department (ED) has begun. The expansion will include a new ambulance bay, additional waiting areas, and nearly double the number of patient beds― all in private rooms. To obtain additional space, the existing ED will be expanded eastward toward Stockton Hill Road where the current emergency parking lot is located. The National Day of Prayer was held at city complex on Thursday May 2 at 12 noon.

 It was perfect weather gracing the corner of Oak Street and Fourth Street outside a city building where about 50 community members gathered for The National Day of Prayer (NDP) which occurs yearly on the first Thursday of May. Pastor Peter Urnst from Family Bible Church and Pastor Grif Vautier, emeritus from Kingman Presbyterian Church headed up the NDP. Lake Havasu City congratulates the Havasu Youth Advisory Council (HYAC) for winning 1st place in the 2018-19 DemocraSeed competition. DemocraSeed is a Civic Health Initiative of the Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) in partnership with Arizona State University’s Public Service Academy (PSA) that seeks to increase interest in civic engagement, creative problem solving, and entrepreneurship among students participating in city and tribal youth councils throughout Arizona.
