KINGMAN – Kingman police say a woman was hurt and a man was arrested after they engaged in a domestic dispute where they reside together in the 600 block of Market Street. Officers responded to a reported stabbing on the property at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3. Deputy Police Chief Rusty Cooper said the 60-year-old woman was struck in the head by a fan and stabbed in the arm by a screwdriver. KINGMAN – The Arizona Department of Child Safety has taken custody of an infant whose mother who admitted writing in the name of a friend on her daughter’s birth certificate. Deputy Kingman Police chief Rusty Cooper said investigators believe that Jackie Dougherty did so because there was a warrant for her arrest, and she feared possible health complications for her newborn daughter due to her drug use during pregnancy. Cooper said Dougherty was already in jail on a probation violation when she was charged with forging the certificate on August 29.

KINGMAN – A Kingman teenager faces a possible lengthy prison sentence after admitting sexual involvement with five young girls, 14 to 17 years of age. The plea agreement for Dillan Gonzales, 19 was entered Thursday at the Mohave County Courthouse. “I have enormous discretion at sentencing,” explained Judge Billy Sipe. LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man reportedly fought with officers who escorted him from a courtroom for his unruly behavior last month. The incident occurred August 5 at the Lake Havasu City municipal court on College Drive. A police report said Judge M. Dunbar repeatedly told Travis Ramsey, 24, to quit talking because he was disrupting hearings for traffic offenses. Police said Ramsey’s behavior became increasingly aggressive and disrespectful as Judge Dunbar ruled against him in his court matters.
