Large quantities of an assortment of drugs were seized following a Monday traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Kingman. Mohave County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said an ADOT Enforcement Division K9 responded to the scene to assist deputies. “The K9 alerted to the presence of the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle,” Mortensen said. She said a thorough search of the vehicle produced the confiscation of 9.8 pounds of cocaine, 2.5 pounds of heroin and 1.3 pounds of packaged counterfeit oxycodone pills suspected of containing fentanyl. Sticky fingers at work bring a felony conviction and jail time for a Bullhead City woman. Brianna Bushey, 30, pleaded guilty to theft of $5,924 worth of lottery tickets from the Desert Foothills Blvd. convenience store where she worked. A Bullhead City man will spend the rest of his life in prison for viewing child pornography on his electronic devices. Michael Barrett, 42, was sentenced to 135 years in prison by Judge Billy Sipe on Tuesday, May 28. A Mohave County Superior Court jury deliberated only 20 minutes on April 3 before finding Barrett guilty of ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Sipe ordered consecutive 13.5-year sentences for each of the convictions. Sipe said the Arizona legislature passed a law requiring Judges to impose at least a decade in prison for each count. Probation violations and new criminal cases resolved through a single plea agreement result in a nine year prison term for a Bullhead City woman. Lisa Marie Jamison, 39, was sentenced Friday, May 24, by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle. Jamison was placed on probation in December, 2015 after pleading guilty to four counts of child abuse by for endangering children who had access to four weapons and ammunition inside a Bullhead City apartment. Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) employees offered rebuttal when a Bullhead City man minimized his involvement in the abuse of his eight week-old daughter last November. Defense attorney Kenneth Beane said 23-year-old Dalton Milne suffered a momentary loss of self control. “I’m sorry this happened. I kind of lost control,” Milne told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle, during a May 25 sentencing hearing. Two of three defendants charged in a Bullhead City drug bust have entered plea agreements to resolve their cases short of trial. Jacob Earle Beane, 39, Matthew Grady Sandman, 40 and Micka Fern Kutschat, 26, were arrested when law enforcement officers conducted a February 5, 2018 search of a home in the 1800 block of Granada Drive. Bullhead City police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said methamphetamine was found throughout the residence, as well as a small amount of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia.
