Aquino gets two years for delivering drugs to inmates

A former detention officer who delivered drugs and tobacco to her boyfriend and another inmate at the Mohave County jail was given a two year prison term on June 14. Judge Billy Sipe rejected Ashley Aquino’s request to be placed on probation. No charges in boating accident

The Mohave County Attorney’s office is declining to file charges in a multiple fatality boating crash on the Colorado River last Labor Day weekend. Four California residents were killed when two boats were involved in a head-on collision just after 8:00 p.m. on September 1 on a stretch of the river between Pirates Cove and the Topock Marina, north of Lake Havasu. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said 12 people were rescued after all 16 occupants of both vessels were tossed into the water at the point of impact. McIntire charged with sexual abuse

A Kingman man charged in the alleged beating of his teenaged son with multiple instruments has subsequently been charged with the sexual abuse of his 15-year-old niece. Kingman police announced the April 4 arrest of Kenneth McIntire after a school resource officer began investigating lower body injuries suffered by a 13-year-old boy.  Deputy Police Chief Rusty Cooper said McIntire allegedly struck the boy with a belt, a section of PVC pipe and metal broom handle. Molinari may receive prison time for crash

A Bullhead City man who was impaired when he crashed his vehicle through the glass front doors of a convenience market and injured a patron has entered a plea agreement that could send him to prison. 70-year-old Alexander Andrew Molinari pleaded guilty to a drunk driving related charge, aggravated assault and criminal damage for the August, 2018 incident at the Beyond River Mart off Highway 95. Dyer to receive prison time for armed robbery

A Bullhead City woman who robbed a man she met at a Laughlin casino has entered a plea agreement that requires a six year prison term. An unrelated organized retail theft case is dismissed in the deal convicting 33-year-old Misty Dyer of armed robbery. Prosecutor Jeff Haws said Dyer and the victim spent a good part of the day together at the casino on November 25 of last year. Shankles to face at least ten years in kidnappings

A third Bullhead City resident has entered a mandatory prison plea agreement for his involvement in the abduction of two people who were later transported to a remote location where they were shot and killed. Lucas Shankles, 23, faces at least ten years in prison under terms of the deal unveiled Friday. Prosecutor Jaimye Ashley said Shankles wielded a wrench and an axe when 51-year-old Mona Carter and 22-year old Daryl Ward were threatened and interrogated in the bedroom of a Bullhead City home in January, 2018.
