MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College is excited to announce that seven of its students have been selected as All Arizona Academic Team Members, including Kingman resident, Michelle Drwal.   All Arizona Academic Team members receive a full tuition scholarship to any public university in Arizona after they graduate MCC. The scholarship covers resident tuition for 10 consecutive undergraduate semesters or 60 credits for the fall and spring semesters.   Drwal is planning to attend Northern Arizona University to earn her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She hopes to eventually work in the Alzheimer’s unit because she enjoys working with…

Agricultural education program available for veterans

MOHAVE COUNTY – For veterans seeking to further their education or start education in a new career field, Veterans Agriculture Education and Apprenticeship Program (VAEAP) has an opportunity for you. VAEAP’s goal is to provide a free agriculture education for military veterans, with the hopes of helping them with a successful career in agriculture. The project is seeking 30 to 50 Arizona veterans to participate. With flexibility, the program allows veterans to gain an education at their own pace while also offering one-on-one support with professors. MOHAVE COUNTY – A tidal wave of money from the $1.9-trillion COVID-19 relief package is sloshing across the country to state and local government and numerous other entities. Billions of dollars will flow into Arizona. Dist. 2 Sup. Hildy Angius said $1.3 billion alone, is being funneled to the state’s 15 counties. “Mohave County is set to receive $41.5-million,” Angius said during a recent Board of Supervisors meeting. “It basically can be used for anything except lobbying and that means for people, for citizens, for counties.
