Kingman Area Food Bank Receives New Equipment

KINGMAN –  The Kingman Area Food Bank has received an essential piece of equipment for their operations! St Mary’s Food Bank approved a grant request made several months ago to fund a new fork lift truck for the Food Bank. This new equipment has a value in excess of $20,000 and was provided at no cost to serve the hungry in Mohave County St Mary’s is affiliated via contract with the food bank in Kingman and provides a significant portion of the emergency food they provide to the public. Contract awarded for second Laughlin/Bullhead bridge

LAUGHLIN/BULLHEAD CITY – Clark County, Nevada has awarded a $54-million contract to a Henderson-based firm to build a second Colorado River bridge connecting Laughlin and Bullhead City. Fisher Sand and Gravel will have two years to complete the project once an official notice to proceed is issued. “The contract calls for construction of a five-span, 724-foot-long concrete bridge over the Colorado River,” manager Toby Cotter said during the May 4 Bullhead City council meeting. Bullhead City is contributing $4.5-million for bridge construction and spent another $4-million on connective infrastructure on the Arizona side of the span. Kingman Area Food Bank receives UniSource grant

KINGMAN –  On Friday, the Kingman Area Food Bank received notice that UniSource Energy Services has approved a grant in the amount of $5,000 to assist with food bank operations. This new grant is one of many that the local energy service has provided to help feed the hungry in Mohave County. This unrestricted grant will assist in funding operations for the Kingman Area Food Bank. They feed 30 to 50 families daily with about 150 to 200 pounds of food.
