Volunteers sought for boards, commissions

MOHAVE COUNTY – Two Mohave County Supervisors have vacancies on volunteer boards and commissions that need to be filled. District 4 Supervisor and current Chairman Jean Bishop has an immediate opening on the Board of Adjustment. District 5 Supervisor Ron Gould has two currently open positions on the Board of Adjustment and one open position on the Personnel Commission. Mohave County Supervisors vote for mining development

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 on Tuesday, Feb. 18 to have the county’s Development Services to amend the general plan and enable policies to support mining development and mining in areas to include the Arizona strip. WaterSMART grants selected; 12 states selected for $4.99 million in grants

The Bureau of Reclamation has selected 54 projects to share $40.99 million in WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency Grants to help projects use water more efficiently and effectively in the western United States. “The WaterSMART Program is helping Reclamation address the West’s water challenges,” said Reclamation Commissioner Brenda Burman. “Water and Energy Efficiency Grants provide water districts and communities the needed assistance to modernize their water delivery infrastructure and increase hydropower generation.” Projects are located in California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Temporary road closure for Annual Line Dance on London Bridge

LAKE HAVASU CITY – This Sunday, February 23, the London Bridge is closed to through traffic from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., for the Havasu Community Health Foundation’s Annual Line Dance on the London Bridge special event. Beginning at 2:15 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department clears the London Bridge of pedestrians and traffic. BHC to host clean up event Feb. 27

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City, Mohave County probation, sanitation contractor Republic Services and citizens will partner in a community cleanup organized by a homeless task force.
