Cabrera takes plea in child porn case

KINGMAN – A Kingman man is heading to the Arizona Department of Corrections for downloading child pornography. Nicholas Cabrera, 55, pleaded guilty Monday to three counts reduced to attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Karolina Czaplinska said a cyber tip prompted an investigation that traced to an account Cabrera used to engage in the illegal activity. She said minors engaged in sexual display or behavior on two videos and an image found on his electronic devices were the basis for the plea agreement entered before Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen.

Judge Jantzen approved the plea deal and scheduled a January 13 sentencing hearing. Terms of the agreement require the Court to impose a 5- to 10-year prison term followed by lifetime supervised probation. Dave Hawkins
