Busy Weekend for Sports Tourism in Bullhead City

Bullhead City Recreation Division is hosting two sporting events this weekend at Rotary Park along with Mohave High School’s MEC Invitational Track meet.

The first event is the Bye Bye Birdie pickleball tournament hosted by the City of Bullhead City and pickleballtournaments.com. Games will be hosted at Rotary Park’s newly developed pickleball courts. This will be the first tournament on the new courts with players from Canada, Minnesota, South Dakota, Georgia, Idaho, California, Nevada and Arizona. The tournament is a sendoff for all of Bullhead City’s Winter Visitors who have been great advocates for pickleball in the community. “We are very excited about hosting and we look forward to more visitors coming to enjoy all that our great community has to offer,” said Recreation Superintendent Dave Heath.

The City also welcomes SSUSA 2019 Spring Worlds Championships to Bullhead City. This event will bring 38 Senior Softball teams to Rotary Park using six fields throughout the entire weekend. The tournament gives teams in each age bracket/divisions the opportunity to move onto the Tournament of Champions hosted in Florida in 2020. Teams will be traveling in from surrounding border states for their opportunity to advance to the TOC.

Mohave High School will host the MEC Invitational Track meet on Saturday starting at 9:30 a.m. Numerous teams from throughout the region will be attending this great annual event.

For more information about these events or other sporting opportunities, please call Derek Sedler, Recreation Manager at 928-763-9400.
