Bullhead residents turn out for mild weather over holiday weekend

The Colorado River near Community Park in Bullhead City was packed all Memorial Day weekend as hundreds of boaters and water enthusiasts all descended upon Bullhead for Memorial Day weekend, generally considered the start of summer. The entire length of the waterline was filled with pop-ups full of people enjoying the relatively mild temperatures that ran all weekend, peaking out around 100 degrees. All that is about to change as the 10-day forecast for Bullhead shows temps bolting up to nearly 110 this coming week as summer truly sets in. Photos by Kane Wickham

BULLHEAD CITY – Last weekend in Bullhead City saw the Colorado River packed with people as hundreds of visitors, boaters, and water enthusiasts descended upon our stretch of the river both lining the shores and filling the river all Memorial Day weekend. Rental agencies and city personnel were fully staffed for what is commonly known as the start of summer.

The Bullhead Belle, the city’s own food and refreshment stand was doing brisk business for visitors seeking cold drinks and food while enjoying the moderate weather that remained in effect all weekend, and finding parking anywhere near the water in Community Park was a challenge as all the rental spaces on the waterline were rented out from Community Park up to Davis Camp north of the Laughlin Bridge all weekend and were teeming with visitors for the three day weekend.

Even the Water Park was packed as Parents and kids alike basked in the flow from the unique outlets of the park while enjoying the moderate temps that barely reached 100 degrees all weekend.

Rotary Park was packed as well with sports tournaments and BBQ’s all around offering a smorgasbord of scents for visitors and competitors alike.
