BHCPD hosts anti-theft seminar

Bullhead City Police Service Aide Tina Robledo and BHCPD Corporal Denny Crawford at last week’s Anti-auto theft seminar hosted at BHCPD headquarters.

BULLHEAD CITY – Last Friday afternoon the Bullhead City Police Department hosted a seminar showcasing ways to prevent car theft at BHCPD headquarters on Marina Blvd. Among the many techniques showcased were VIN etching, the etching of the vehicle’s VIN number on all the windows of the vehicle which allows investigators the means to determine the vehicle’s true owner via the etchings. Car thieves often switch out the VIN number plate located on the dash in the front window of a vehicle thus making the identification of it difficult.

Several dozen local residents showed up for the seminar and once registered were treated at no cost to the etching by BHCPD Police Aide Tina Robledo and Corporal Denny Crawford who etched dozens of cars at no cost to the owners.

The seminar also offered pamphlets and many other tools to use for keeping one’s car safe from theft which is a crime that is on the rise across the nation.

Free steering wheel locks and other deterrents were also offered to the public free of charge.
