BHCFD acquires state-of-the-art fire boat to enhance water rescue operations

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Fire Department proudly announces the acquisition of a new 26ft Munson Fire Boat, enhancing its capabilities for water rescue operations. The state-of-the-art vessel was received on Friday, March 8, 2024, marking a significant milestone in bolstering the department’s ability to respond effectively to water emergencies within the Bullhead community.

The new vessel was funded through the State Lakes Improvement Fund (SLIF), awarded two years ago. The acquisition of this new fireboat represents a significant investment in the safety and security of Bullhead City residents and visitors.

The 26ft Munson Fire Boat boasts several cutting-edge features that set it apart from its predecessor, including a Garmin 1242xsv GPS Plotter/Sounder for precise navigation, a Garmin Panoptix FrontVu forward-looking transducer to enhance situational awareness, and a GoLight 20204GT LED searchlight for improved visibility during nighttime operations. These advanced technologies ensure that our personnel have the tools they need to navigate challenging environments and conduct rescue operations safely and effectively.
