BULLHEAD CITY – For the first time in recent memory, the Bullhead City School District will host a family resource event with a mini health fair. The event is free and will be held in the Bullhead City Middle School gymnasium on Thursday, November 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is open to BCSD students and their extended families.
Some of the many services include childhood immunizations, health and vision screening, nutrition demonstrations and presentations in English and Spanish about mental health and bullying.
“This is an opportunity for our students and their families to learn about many free or low-cost community resources,” said BCSD Superintendent Carolyn Stewart. “For certain family members, this event may include some of the only basic health screenings they receive this year.”
Participating agencies include, but are not limited to, Arizona@Work, Arizona Youth Partnership, AZ Health Zone, Bullhead City Police Department, CASA, Catholic Charities, Child and Family Support Services, Child Care Resource and Referral, LGBTQ Awareness of Arizona, Lions Club, Mohave Community College, Mohave County Department of Public Health, Mohave County Library, Mohave Roadrunners Track and Field Club, Not My Kid, Southwest Behavioral and Health Services, Tri-State Community Healthcare Center, Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and WIC.
Detailed bilingual information will also be posted on BCSD’s website (bcsd15.org) and Facebook page (@BCSD15).
