Alleged child molester’s statement to police may not be admissible

Defense attorney Robin Puchek is fighting for court ordered suppression of his client’s incriminating statements to officers before the Bullhead City man’s child pornography trial starts  in Kingman. Michael David Barrett, 42, is charged with ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor for images of child pornography found in October 2017 on a computer in his home in Katherine Heights. Barrett is also charged in a separate case with three counts of child molestation and two counts of sexual conduct with a minor. Lake Havasu resident helps raise funds for children’s hospital

Annie Wofford of Lake Havasu City, was one of more than 1,700 current University of Iowa students who recently collaborated to raise almost $3 million in financial support for the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital as participants in the 25th annual UI Dance Marathon. During the event Feb. 1-2 at the Iowa Memorial Union, student participants unveiled the total of $2,960,403.25, which supports pediatric oncology patients and their families at the hospital and advances cancer research. Flora selected as CRUHSD Superintendent

BULLHEAD CITY – The Colorado River Union High School District governing board has unanimously chosen Arizona Department of Education (ADE) program specialist Todd Flora as its new superintendent.  The late-night vote Tuesday followed almost four hours of a third round of candidate interviews and discussion. Flora and Kimball, South Dakota, Public Schools superintendent Tim Mayclin were the two finalists.  Both have had multiple interviews with the CRUHSD board, as well as numerous community stakeholder forums, roundtable discussions with community leaders, and campus and community tours over two days. Skeen receives the Commission on Professional Credentialing Fire Marshal designation The Commission of Professional Credentialing (CPC) announced that Bullhead City Fire Department staff Barbie Skeen has successfully completed the process that awards the professional designation of “Fire Marshal” (FM). The CPC met on February 5, to confer the designation. Skeen becomes one of only 153 FMs worldwide.
