Lake Havasu City congratulates the Havasu Youth Advisory Council (HYAC) for winning 1st place in the 2018-19 DemocraSeed competition. DemocraSeed is a Civic Health Initiative of the Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) in partnership with Arizona State University’s Public Service Academy (PSA) that seeks to increase interest in civic engagement, creative problem solving, and entrepreneurship among students participating in city and tribal youth councils throughout Arizona. Russell arrested for robberies

Lake Havasu City police report the arrest of a Parker man shortly after he allegedly committed a violent robbery at a business late Thursday night. The 11:05 p.m. traffic stop of a suspect vehicle on Highway 95 resulted in the arrest of Kerrigon Russell, 23. Police and Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 10:52 p.m. to a robbery reported at the Havasu Adult Book Store at 3590 London Bridge Road. “An unidentified male suspect entered the store, assaulted a female employee, bound her with zip ties and fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash,” a press release stated….

Horrific details in a Bullhead City man’s animal abuse case have been laid out in separate hearings at the Mohave County Courthouse. Judge Billy Sipe expressed outrage that Nicholas Saucedo, 19, “tortured” a mixed-breed Jack Russell terrier/Chihuahua named Baby Girl last October.  A factual basis statement for the plea agreement convicting Saucedo of cruel mistreatment of an animal said that arriving Bullhead City police officers found a badly beaten dog and a disturbing crime scene. “Officers examined Baby Girl and found that her paws had been punctured, that her eyes and head appeared to be swollen,” the factual basis statement…

Long faces three choices to choose from at next hearing Harsh punishment reality for a confessed child molester from Lake Havasu City was detailed Monday as attorneys engaged in plea bargain discussions in open court in Kingman.
