Bushey gets jail, community service, and probation for thefts

Sticky fingers at work bring a felony conviction and jail time for a Bullhead City woman. Brianna Bushey, 30, pleaded guilty to theft of $5,924 worth of lottery tickets from the Desert Foothills Blvd. convenience store where she worked. Defense attorney Kenneth Beane said the four days Bushey spent in jail following her arrest served as a wake up call. “It scared me completely,” Bushey said during her May 29 sentencing hearing in Kingman. “I will never do it again.” The repetitive nature of stealing so many lottery tickets over a 17 day period last November compelled Mohave County Superior…

Lane closures on US 93 north of Wikieup set to begin June 3 and continue through August

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists with travel plans along US 93 north of Wikieup to plan ahead and expect delays of up to 20 minutes through early August while road construction is underway. Intermittent lane closures will occur nightly, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., beginning Monday, June 3. Overnight work is scheduled to continue through early August. The work will allow construction crews to move material to build the new highway alignment.  The 4-mile, four-lane divided highway is scheduled for completion in late 2020. ADOT reminds motorists to use caution around construction personnel and equipment, slow down and be prepared to merge into the…
