MCC classes to return on campus, and college will continue remote class option

MOHAVE COUNTY – Students asked and Mohave Community College answered.  The college will offer classes on campus, online and remotely through videoconferencing for the upcoming fall semester, which begins August 23.  College President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein just announced in a video message to the college community that on-campus classes will resume, and so will the remote class option.   “As you’ve seen, vaccination rates across the country have increased and the threat of the virus continues to decrease.  So, I’m very happy to say that this fall we plan to have classes back on campus and we’ll continue all of our…

Permissible fireworks spark fire

BULLHEAD CITY – At approximately 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, Bullhead City Fire Department (BHCFD) crews were dispatched to the Motel 6 located at 1081 Hwy. 95 for a reported commercial structure fire. According to a BHCFD spokesperson, a small shed was on fire at the north end of the structure.  Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, keeping it from spreading to the hotel.  Fire investigators responded to the scene finding an array of permissible fireworks covering the immediate area. BHCFD would like to remind citizens that all fireworks have the potential to ignite a fire. With…

George Crouch passed from this earth into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on June 29, 2021, at the age of 89 after a short illness. He had lived in Kingman, Arizona for the past seven years. He was born as the seventh of ten children of Tom and Myrtle Crouch in Fresno, California during the Great Depression on March 13, 1932. The family struggled to make ends meet during the depression which found the Crouch family all out working any jobs available, including farm laborer and picking cotton by hand, to provide income. KINGMAN – Many of those who knew and loved him will pay their last respects this weekend to the late James Zyla. For years, the red-capped, white bearded Zyla shuffled the streets of Kingman. Many mistook Zyla for a helpless transient though he was highly educated and intelligent and wowed anyone who heard him play a piano.
