Assistance requested in locating Havasu shooting suspect

LAKE HAVASU CITY – On November 12, 2024, at approximately 7:08 p.m., Lake Havasu City Police Department officers were investigating an incident in the 1400 block of Smoketree Avenue when they were alerted to a possible shooting in the same area. Upon arriving, officers determined that an altercation had occurred, during which a firearm was discharged.

Two individuals, including a juvenile, sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident. Both victims were treated at the hospital and later released.

Following a thorough investigation by the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit, a suspect has been identified. Authorities are seeking the community’s assistance in locating 18-year-old Ryan Christopher Nelson, a resident of Lake Havasu City. Havasu Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to his location and arrest.

Anyone with information about Ryan’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Lake Havasu City Police Department at (928) 855-1171.
