Arizona votes blue and green

Biden holds 51% of Arizona’s Presidential vote; election results are still unofficial, and pending

Marijuana legislation passes at 60% approval

Arizona went both blue and green Tuesday with voters favoring Democratic challenger Joe Biden over Republican President Donald Trump, while joining other states in approving the legalization of recreational use of marijuana. The Associated Press and other news organizations called Arizona for Biden late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

Incomplete and unofficial election results early Wednesday had Biden holding a little more than 51% of Arizona’s Presidential vote (1,410,977-1,317,468). Northwest Arizona stayed red in the battle for the White House with Mohave County voters overwhelmingly supporting Trump’s re-election bid (69,830-22,980).

Prop. 207, the state’s pot proposition, enjoyed roughly a 60% approval margin both Mohave County and the State of Arizona. County voters turned a resounding thumbs down on Prop. 208, a tax and fund education question, while the ballot measure was passing with almost 53% of the statewide county Wednesday.

Democrat Mark Kelly (1,444,645) claims victory over Martha McSally (1,300,119) in Arizona’s hotly contested U.S. senate race. Local Congressman Paul Gosar (237,538) is handily defeating challenger Delina DiSanto (106,692).
