KINGMAN – The City of Kingman Parks & Recreation Department is holding a community input meeting Thursday, January 23, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Centennial Park Community Center located at 3345 Harrison Street. The city is conducting a facilities master plan to assess the condition and use of our facilities and programs. The focus is on the Centennial Park Community Center, trails, pools, golf course, recreation programs, parks and future parks. City officials would like to hear from residents, business owners, special interest groups and any other interested parties.
The master plan will look at existing park facilities, recreation programs, trails and the golf course to determine potential gaps in recreation facilities and amenities within the community. This will create guidelines to assist with future planning and improvements in the city.
In addition to focus groups, stakeholder meetings, staff meetings and a public input session, a needs assessment survey will also be conducted. The results of the information gathered will be used to determine the needs for additional recreational programs, new facilities and renovations desired by Kingman residents. The city will identify funding sources, potential partnerships, and determine how best to support the recreation needs of the community.
The City of Kingman has contracted with GreenPlay, LLC, a nationally known parks and recreation management consulting firm to oversee the Facilities Master Plan.
