Lies, lies, lies

Dear Editor,

A “Man’s life changes over a lie” letter to the editor is shocking, astounding, and sadly believable since it is abundantly clear how such a scenario can evolve today. Recently The Standard contained news of the Republican Party registrations in Mohave County increasing to 60,000-plus, so it is easy to extrapolate the why of such a heinous lie as reported in “Man’s life changes over a lie”; would have the ability to ruin a life or an entire government for that matter.

At last count, over 12,000 lies or mistruths had been documented from the current occupant of the White House, and those 60,000-plus republicans in Mohave County obviously think lies are perfectly acceptable or of little or no concern, free of any consequence, ergo why let the facts, or worse the truth get in the way of transparency; especially when you have an agenda in mind, i.e., winning an election.

In actuality not only do they accept lies as normal for politicians, they perpetuate the lies by repeating them thus giving credence to those elected to represent them!

Lies can ruin lives because even with concrete evidence to the contrary, people still believe them.

We can and must do better. The question is, will we?
