London Bridge Days Parade, Changes to Route and Road Closure

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – Lake Havasu City is preparing to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the London Bridge Days Parade on Saturday, October 24, at 10 a.m., hosted by Go Lake Havasu and DSM Events, with a revised route designed to improve safety for participants, spectators, motorists, and event personnel.

The London Bridge Days Parade will travel along McCulloch Boulevard as usual, but from Birch Square to Capri Boulevard this year. Parade participants stage at Van Vliet Lane and Birch Square on both sides of McCulloch Boulevard, with additional staging in a portion of the Mesquite Avenue parking lot near the splash pad and the upper parking lot near the jewelry store. Entries then proceed to Birch Square, where they join the parade route on McCulloch Boulevard.

The revised route was developed by the City’s special event team, which includes representatives from all City departments and parade organizers. The team reviewed participant staging, traffic control, emergency access, pedestrian safety, parking, and the safe movement of parade entries.

The route follows the same path used for the Veterans Day Parade, which has proven successful in safely accommodating participants and spectators.

To accommodate the parade, McCulloch Boulevard is temporarily closed from Acoma Boulevard to Capri Boulevard from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, exercise additional caution in the area, and pay close attention to signage, barricades, volunteers, and law enforcement personnel.

At this time, the revised route is expected to serve as the route for future parades. However, each special event is reviewed individually, and adjustments may be made based on the event’s size and scope, construction or roadway conditions, and other public safety considerations.
