Golden Valley Fire District Operation Statistics

GOLDEN VALLEY – Golden Valley Fire District (GVFD) firefighters have responded to 1,681 incidents since January 1, 2019.

GVFD is responsible for about 180 square miles of the valley, however, does respond out of district when needed and also has out-of-district contracts with Griffith Energy, Unisource Black Mountain Energy and Kingman Energy Corporation, to provide them with fire suppression and emergency medical service (EMS).

The calls have included: 1 second alarm; 16 commercial alarms, 14 residential alarms; 3 assist other agencies (such as MCSO and DPS); 1 bomb scare; 56 brush fires; 2 dumpster fires; 5 fuel spills of less than 25 gallons; 2 HAZMAT incidents; 4 mutual aid calls; 12 pest abatements (bees, etc.); 8 powerline hazards; 75 public assistances (can be person falls and can’t get up); 18 smoke investigations; 2 special assignments (wildland firefighters on deployment, etc.) ; 23 station move ups (to cover a station with firefighters are on a call); 2 commercial structure fires; 36 residential structure fires; 24 unauthorized burns; 9 commercial vehicle fires; 13 passenger vehicle fires; 1,351 EMS assist calls; and 4 other/test calls.

The aforementioned calls were responded by firefighters from Station #11 on Bacobi Road – 771 calls, Station #12 on Egar Road – 633 calls, Station #13 on Oatman Highway – 253 and GVFD Administration Building on Egar Road – 24.
