KINGMAN, Ariz. – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reports an arrest in a near decade old homicide. John Page, 46, Kingman, was taken into custody on Sept. 22 on a first-degree murder charge.
MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said Page is charged in the death of Matthew Johnson, 22, Kingman. She said deputies responding to a weapons offense on Dec. 14, 2016 found a gunshot wounded victim in a wash between John L and Devlin Avenues.
Johnson was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Mortensen said an autopsy determined that he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
“Over time, evidence from the crime scene was resubmitted and subjects re-interviewed by detectives,” Mortensen said. “Through the course of the investigation, Page was identified as the suspect.”
Mortensen said case investigation continues.
