KINGMAN, Ariz. – A domestic violence incident resulting in a facial fracture in north Kingman is being resolved through a plea agreement that could send the defendant to the Arizona Department of Corrections.
Tre Gurrola, 34, was irritated by “something that he found” in the contents of his girlfriend’s cellphone that sparked a quarrel that escalated to violence on July 3, according to the prosecutor and the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. The 33-year-old victim fled the residence they shared in the 3100 block of E. Northfield Avenue, arriving battered and bloodied at the home of a neighbor who contacted law enforcement.
Deputy county attorney Phillip Delgado said the woman was bleeding from the mouth and nose and that one of her eyes was black and blue and swollen shut. A broken bone in her face was discovered after she was transported to the hospital.
Gurrola pleaded guilty to aggravated assault during a Sept. 21 hearing. He faces probation and up to 3.75 years in prison when sentenced Oct. 21.
