KINGMAN, Ariz. – A 10-year prison term has been ordered for a man convicted in a Fort Mohave drug seizure. Judge Billy Sipe imposed punishment during a June 12 sentencing hearing for Jeffrey Smith, 59.

A Mohave County jury deliberated less than 15 minutes before finding Smith guilty of possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia at the end of trial on March 20.

Deputy County Attorney Carlos Lopez said sheriff’s deputy Richard Schiller made contact with Smith as authorities executed a search warrant on Aug. 4, 2025 at a property located at 1777 E. Lipan Boulevard. Just under four ounces, almost 113 grams, of methamphetamine were confiscated from a water bottle Smith possessed in a front pocket of his shorts.

“That’s a significant amount of methamphetamine,” Judge Sipe said. “Methamphetamine is a very harmful drug to the community.”
