Kingman woman pleads guilty to stabbing boyfriend

KINGMAN – A Kingman woman faces a potential prison sentence for stabbing her boyfriend during an alcohol-fueled argument on March 1. Police responded shortly after midnight to the incident at an apartment complex in the 3800 block of E. Andy Devine Ave.

Ellen Hedge, 49, was arrested for attempted murder and other charges. The police department said the couple had lived together for more than three years and that mutual impairment escalated an argument about alleged infidelity.

Attorneys informed the court that the male victim required stitches to close wounds when stabbed in the chest and arm. Hedge pleaded guilty to an assault-related charge when a plea agreement was entered on her behalf during a March 25 hearing.

Hedge is eligible for probation but could also get up to 25 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled April 24 before Mohave County Superior Court judge Derek Carlisle.
