Kingman selected to host 19th Annual Rural Policy Forum

KINGMAN – Kingman will take center stage in rural policy discussions across Arizona this summer as the city has been selected to host the 19th Annual Arizona Rural Policy Forum, scheduled for August 5 through 7. The annual forum brings together rural and tribal leaders, policymakers, small business owners, nonprofit organizations, economic development professionals, educators, and community advocates from across the state to collaborate on strategies that strengthen rural communities and locally owned businesses. The event creates opportunities for these stakeholders to share ideas, build partnerships, and explore solutions to the challenges and opportunities facing rural Arizona.

This year’s forum will take place during a particularly meaningful moment for Kingman and communities along historic Route 66, as 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the iconic “Mother Road.” Organizers plan to incorporate the spirit and legacy of Route 66 throughout the event, celebrating the history and culture that have shaped many of Arizona’s rural communities.

“Kingman is honored to welcome leaders and innovators from across Arizona for the Rural Policy Forum,” said Mayor Ken Watkins. “Our community has long been a gathering place along Route 66, and hosting this statewide conversation during the Route 66 Centennial is especially meaningful. We look forward to sharing Kingman’s history, entrepreneurial spirit, and vision for the future with communities from across the state.”

Forum participants will get to experience Kingman’s revitalized downtown, historic landmarks, locally owned shops and restaurants, and a growing arts and viticulture scene while taking part in discussions, networking opportunities, and community-focused activities.  City leaders look forward to welcoming attendees from across Arizona and showcasing the innovation, collaboration, and small-business energy that make Kingman a vibrant rural destination.
