Pride comes before the fall; Part one

Dear Editor,

The longest SOTU speech in our history still fresh in our minds but how could it not be. With all its smugness and mockery and lies and all too many purposeful distractions while sowing hate and division. Many Americans watched the State of the Union address with a heavy heart. Insanely rude with a savior syndrome Trump making claims our country was nothing until he showed up.

Mocking Americans’ struggles telling us because of him we now live in a ‘golden age.’ While typical household spending is up and most can’t afford to own a home, get a higher education or let alone see a medical specialist because of struggling just to keep a roof over their head, food on the table and the lights on.

And now gas is going up. Yet he says we’re “better and stronger and richer than ever before!” Who? It’s not us. Trump must be talking about him and his family and his billionaire buddies making billions off our government.

While we suffer through all the boot licking and reality show behaviors with this administration. A State of the Union never addressed by a president in a way only Donald Trump could do. But then Donald is a showman at heart. Like a TV reality show with a sideways realtor trying to sell you a bridge, a ringmaster of chaos, threating our country and our State of the Union like his own persons WEE. Encouraging yelling and cheering and booing promoting a theme of winners and losers instead of unity and bipartisan.

All the while watching Trump is like watching on oncoming train wreck while his polls continue to drop. And now with this ‘unapproved’ joint attack on Iran with Netanyahu. He who is no different than Trump who will do anything to stay in office to avoid legal problems once out of office. All of Trump’s lies and lust for wars and his vanity and false pride is setting himself up for a major downfall.

  1. I think J.M. watched a totally different SOTU address than I. In addition, he or she would have refused to stand for those honorees.
