Elmer Lester Harvey 

Elmer Lester Harvey “Les”, a devoted husband and father passed away at home February 6, 2026, at the age of 89 years.

He was born at home on the on the farm to Lustrus and Anna (strong) Harvey in Wayne County, Indiana.

He was raised and spent his formative years in Indiana, where he graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Earlem College. He started working for the Kroger Company at the age of 16 years old.

He was married to Dianna Gallagher for 64 wonderful years. He was a proud and blessed father of two sons, David and John.

A proud veteran, Les served in the United States Air Force. During those four years, he was stationed in Texas, Nevada, and Greenland and had many friends everywhere. He returned to Indiana with his wife and continued to work for the Kroger Supermarket Company, working up to management.

Upon retiring from the Kroger Company, he owned and operated Harvey Brother’s Supermarket. He also managed the Bundy Supermarket.

Les and his wife relocated to the warm country, Kingman, Arizona, where he worked at the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Economic Security Job Services.

Les thoroughly enjoyed volunteering for the Mohave County Museum of History and Arts.

Elmer Lester Harvey was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Wanita White, brother-in-law Frank Sharp, and nephew Paul Harvey.

He leaves behind his beloved wife and sons David Harvey of Fortville, Indiana, and John Harvey of Round Rock, Texas; sister Carolyn (Wayne) Doty of Pershing, Indiana; brothers Ron (Muriel) Harvey of Kingman, Arizona, and Larry (Betty) Harvey of Warner Robins, Georgia. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
