Suspicious north Kingman fire under investigation

KINGMAN – No one was injured in a residential structure in north Kingman Wednesday, Oct .16. Personnel from the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District responded at 3:00 a.m. to the incident in the 3100 block of Devlin Avenue.

“First arriving fire personnel found smoke exiting the unoccupied single family residence,” assistant Fire Chief Keith Eaton said. He said the point of origin was located in the rear of the home and that crews mounted an offensive attack, preventing spread and bringing the fire under control.

“Overhaul and salvage operations continued to confirm no spread of the fire,” Eaton said. The cause of the fire is under investigation, though Eaton said it appears to be suspicious in nature.
