32 counts dropped in plea deal

KINGMAN – A Lake Havasu City woman who engaged in fraud to obtain drug prescriptions has entered a plea agreement. Thirty-two criminal charges are dismissed in the deal for Marcie Lyon, 38.

Lyon pleaded guilty to possession of narcotic drugs (Hydrocodone), attempted forgery and attempted taking identification of another.

Prosecutor Cynthia Giltner said Lyon was working at an assisted living facility and that she swiped a prescription pad from a doctor who tended to patients there. Giltner said Lyon used the pad to write herself prescriptions for a number of drugs.

Terms of the plea deal provide incentive for Lyon to enroll in a drug counseling and treatment facility. She’ll be placed on probation and could be ordered to spend up to 90 days in jail when she is sentenced November 5.
