National Christmas Tree visits Hoover Dam

LAKE MEAD — The National Christmas Tree arrived at the Hoover Dam Thursday, November 6, and was placed on the Arizona side of the dam for viewing. The tree is a 53-foot red fir that is nicknamed “Silver Belle” and is around 50 years old.

Silver Belle was harvested from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest just outside the Mount Rose Ski Resort near Reno.

People were also given the opportunity to sign the box the tree arrived in, and take pictures of it in front of the dam. The tree is traveling for the next three weeks across the country until it arrives in DC.
