MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave College Women’s Soccer team wrapped up its inaugural postseason run with a 5-0 loss to undefeated Arizona Western College on Wednesday night.

The Bighorns entered the Region I Playoffs for the first time in program history after finishing the regular season 6-8-2. Facing a nationally ranked Matadors squad that held a perfect 14-0 record, Mohave battled through 90 minutes against one of the toughest offenses in the conference.

Goalkeeper Evelyn Montiel-Silva had an outstanding performance in goal, recording 16 saves on 21 shots on target from Arizona Western. Despite a strong defensive effort, the Matadors’ relentless attack found the back of the net three times in the first half and twice more after the break.

The loss concludes the Bighorns’ 2025 season, marking a historic milestone as the program continues to build a foundation for the future of women’s soccer at Mohave College.
