Golden Valley man gets prison for smashing store windows in Bullhead

MOHAVE COUNTY — A 2.5-year prison sentence mandated in a plea agreement has been imposed for the man captured on surveillance video smashing store front windows to gain entry into Bullhead City businesses. Judge Billy Sipe sentenced Gary Halstead, 48, Golden Valley, on October 30.

Halstead pleaded guilty to a burglary charge for a September 9 break in during which he reportedly stole cash and alcohol from a building at 1595 Mohave Drive. Theft and criminal damage charges are dismissed.

Bullhead City police department public information officer Emily Fromelt said Haltsead targeted ten commercial enterprises in the “smash and grab‘‘ burglaries committed over a five-day period in early September.
