Young Phoenix man that had sex with Havasu teen takes plea deal

Interior of courtroom

LAKE HAVASU CITY — Social media communication reportedly played a role in the victimization of a Lake Havasu City teenager. Details were provided during an October 6 change of plea hearing for Gavin Flohr, 22, Phoenix.

Mohave County Superior Court judge Lee Jantzen was informed that the girl was 13 when she and Flohr used Snapchat to communicate and arranged a meeting. The defendant reportedly drove to Lake Havasu in September, 2024 and picked her up in the middle of the night and dropped her off after they had sex in his vehicle.

Authorities said Flohr returned to Lake Havasu the same month after she turned 14, and had sex with her again after picking her up around 2:00 a.m.

Multiple charges of sexual conduct with a minor are dismissed in the deal convicting Flohr of two counts of attempted aggravated assault of a minor with sexual motivation. Flohr faces no further jail time when he will be placed on supervised probation at a November 4 sentencing hearing.
