BULLHEAD CITY – Join the Bullhead City Regional Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit Christian Organization, for their ground breaking ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10. The next Habitat partner family will be breaking ground with Habitat shovels for their new Habitat home. The home lot is located at 983 Swan Drive next to the Rotary Park off of Riverview Drive.
The Chambers family was selected after visiting their trailer in spring of 2019. Due to the trailer home starting to fall apart with electrical and structural issues, this family of six are only able to use and live in a small portion of the trailer which is small to begin with. They are certainly in need of a safe and secure place to call home.
This brand new home is planned to have four bedrooms, two bathrooms, 1,684 square feet and a two-car garage. Construction of the home will start soon after a permit has been issued, most likely in November.
HFH believes in a “hand up” not a “hand out”. The Chambers family will be working alongside the nonprofit, putting in 300 sweat equity hours. As part of getting the home, the family will contribute hours. In addition, the Chambers family will go to required classes for budgeting and other classes for homeownership. Since Habitat homes are built alongside volunteers and donors, the house will be affordable for the family to live in.
