City of Kingman invites community to celebrate Route 66 at the Annual I Love 66 Fest

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman has announced the return of the annual I Love 66 Fest, happening Friday, October 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Lewis Kingman Park. This beloved festival is one of Kingman’s key celebrations leading up to the Route 66 Centennial, highlighting the history and culture of America’s Main Street while bringing the community together for two days of fun and entertainment.

The festival itself is free to attend, with free public parking available at the corner of Andy Devine Avenue (Route 66) and Fairgrounds Avenue. Attendees can enjoy live music, delicious food, a beer garden featuring regional craft brews, local craft vendors, live art demonstrations, children’s activity zones, and Kingman’s first and only large-scale zipline. This year’s event introduces exciting new features, including the first-ever Silent Disco and the addition of the Modern Classics Car Show, which will shine alongside the always-popular 5th Annual 66 Classics Car Show and the 4th Tow ‘N Show Camp-out vintage trailer and campervan show.

Festivalgoers can also look forward to the Queen of the Mother Road Pinup Contest in which 20 participants will dress up in 1950s attire, highlighting Route 66 landmarks.  There will also be Route 66 displays and a variety of interactive activities that capture the spirit of the Mother Road.

Live music will set the stage all weekend long. On Friday night, Kurt Johnston’s Route 66 Music: Life’s a Trip and The Swillers will kick off the festivities with a mix of great sounds and energy. Saturday continues the momentum with Garlin Hackney performing in the afternoon and The Rivals taking the stage in the early evening, keeping the celebration lively and full of variety.

While admission to the festival is free, wristbands are available for rides and activity zones. Basic wristbands are $5, and premium wristbands are $20. Both options are valid for both days of the event, giving attendees affordable access to all the thrills and excitement the I Love 66 Fest has to offer.

“The I Love 66 Fest has become a tradition that celebrates both our community and the legacy of Route 66,” said Josh Noble, the City’s Tourism Services Manager. “With new attractions like the Silent Disco and Modern Classics Car Show, this year’s festival will be one of the most exciting yet as we continue building momentum toward the Route 66 Centennial.”
