Hav-A-Sis nonprofit to host Christmas in July fundraiser for student school supplies

LAKE HAVASU — This week Hav-A-Sis will be bringing early holiday cheer to Lake Havasu for a great cause.  The nonprofit has developed a space with members who share the spirit of charity all year long with their upcoming Christmas in July fundraiser.

Committed to always giving back to the community, Hav-a-Sis is diligent with creating cheerful benefit gatherings.  They host ongoing philanthropic campaigns that provide assistance for the elderly, families, and children.

With the fast approaching school year, Hav-A-Sis will be helping all Havasu students identified by the McKinney-Vento Liaison program to obtain school supplies from academic nonprofit Backpacks 4 Kids Arizona.  Affiliated with the Arizona Department of Education, the Mckinney-Vento Homelessness Assistance Act was created for minors who have immediate school enrollment without proof of a residency or immunizations. Also, the child must be an unaccompanied youth and experiencing homelessness.  Backpack 4 Kids is known for giving 35,000 backpacks full of learning materials annually. The school nonprofit also has a food pantry for parents in need of feeding their children.  Local Havasu parents needing assistance with school supplies for their children can call President of Hav-A-Sis Connie Alexander at 928-830-5566.

In just a few days, Hav-A-Sis is inviting the community to participate in reaching this much needed goal to help students for their school years.  Although donations are not required for attendance, all tools donated for classroom success are much appreciated. The nonprofit will be collecting food pantry contributions from attendees along with school supplies like markers, pencils, folders, composition notebooks, and many more learning tools for classroom success.

This event is free to the public however guests will be able to pay for any food and beverage orders of their choice at the venue.  To add to the holiday themed occasion, participants are encouraged to arrive in fun Christmas t-shirts and can also partake in the raffle drawing.

Hav-A-Sis’s Christmas in July Fundraiser will be on Friday July 25th beginning at 4:30pm to 6:30pm at SummeRay Wine Bar and Local Eatery located at 2097 McCulloch Blvd N.  Learn more about Hav-A-Sis’s ongoing community fundraising by visiting Upcoming Events – Hav-A-Sis.
