Missing Havasu woman found deceased

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The death of a Lake Havasu City woman is under investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said Carolyn Bennett, 62, was reported missing on June 30 after she had last been seen on June 16.

Mortensen said Bennett’s vehicle was located on July 3 in a remote area near Interstate 40 and Franconia Road, north of Lake Havasu.

“The vehicle had become disabled, and she was located deceased inside the vehicle,” Mortensen said. “There was no evidence of food or water within the vehicle.”

Mortensen said initial investigation did not reveal any indication of foul play. She said the decedent was transported to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine an official cause of death.

Investigation is ongoing.
