LAKE HAVASU CITY  – No injuries are reported involving a July 5 residential structure fire in Lake Havasu City. Fire department personnel responded at 10:30 p.m. to the incident in the 2400 block of Angler Drive.

“The first arriving fire company found the garage fully engulfed in flames,”said Community Engagement Officer Jerri Bracamonte. She said it took 27 minutes to bring the fire under control.

“The fire was containted in the garage, with only minor smoke damage reported inside the home,” Bracamonte said. “A loud explosion in the garage alerted occupants, who were home at the time, allowing them to evacuate safely.”

Bracamonte said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but that there’s suspicion it involved improper disposal of fireworks.
